Metaphors
Metaphors like similes compare one thing to another. However, there are no “likes” and “as”. Metaphors say on thing is the other thing.
Examples of metaphors
- She is a tiger on the netball court.
- The sea is a hungry dog.
- That's a pearl of an idea.
- Jack was a pearl of an diamond.
- Tim was a little monkey when no one was watching
